Community Tasting Notes 5

November 10, 2020 - Same experience as with last bottle, although the oak is less pronounced. Rich wine for sure with notes of orange confit, almonds and Asian spices. It doesn’t work as an aperitif wine, requires some serious food - in fact it may work with duck.

March 16, 2020 - Deep golden color. Notes of orange confit, almonds, butterscotch. Rich wine, some marks of oak, slightly dry. Spices. On it’s way to maturity, tastes like Hermitage. Would have liked a bit less oak on this wine. Needs food.

June 14, 2012 - Easy drinking a little watery. Move along nothing to see here. It's Marsanne. There's a reason it's not a major varietal.

November 11, 2011 - Rhone Dinner (Sun Wah Chinese BBQ): Greg brought this to start our meal at Sun Wah BBQ.
Tinny. Pink grape fruit. Nice refreshing quality and easy drinking. A little watery.

April 18, 2011 - Band-aid aspect with raw nuts, petrol-gas; bit of cinnamon, dry spice in the nose; vibrant medium rich mouth with grassy-earth tones and a fine texture; just a touch bitter with anise; nice film residue in the mouth from what seems like like tannins; 12 mo. in oak. All granite soils, 95% Marsanne.
