October 9, 2021 - Mid-Aged Cabernet Sauvignon Lunch (Mostly Double Blind) (Pixca - Highland Park IL): Double blind from magnum alongside the main Léoville Barton cuvee. This was also lack and meaty, very accessible, just not quite as well balanced as the 1st wine. Similar profile, with just less substance or concentration. No further upside here.

June 15, 2020 - I've been trying this occasionally for the last 15 years and it has never disappointed, and if bought back in the day great value for money. It is an excellent every day house wine, which I personally feel has stayed at its typical profile for as long as I've been drinking it. I am not convinced its tannic profile is going to change.

September 2, 2019 - Still surprisingly tannic and acidic 19 years in this could go a while longer. Quite aromatic on opening continues with time needs 1+ hrs open then 1+ hrs decant. A certain spicy nature on the nose nutmeg cloves bay leaf anise with medium to dark red/purple fruit. It was still reasonably tannic and some sour acid that did integrate better with time. Not super typical St Julien but nice wine overall definitely a bargain in 2011 prices!

October 30, 2018 - Last bottle of a case bought from Majestic Wine many moons ago. Still properly red without any sign of browning at the rim . Plenty of fruit, cedar and graphite on the bouquet . Tannins wholly resolved - soft glorious St Julien flavours at only 12.5 in a terrific vintage . Long finish If these have been well cellared I suspect they could last a year or two yet . Delightful .

May 14, 2017 - Last bottle, fruit fading quite quickly, drink up.
