August 11, 2023 - Double decanted in the early AM, then decanted for about an hour before drinking that evening.
Roses, tar, little savory herbal nettle and meaty notes not he nose. It a savory and red more than dark fruited nebbiolo, with umami and porcini notes on the palate that compliment the classic floral and tar notes. Excellent mineral backbone and focus. This is drinking well already with time in hand. -

October 18, 2021 - Similar on the nose to the Giovanni Rosso Cerretta I just tried, but with a menthol note as well. Medium-bodied on the palate, with good persistence - very likable, and like the first wine, plenty of time in front of it. I might have a slight preference for this on opening, but both wines are a pleasure to drink on a nice Fall day.

July 24, 2021 - 5 hours upon opening serving into Zalto Burgundy glass (“Root” day): Pale ruby to the eyes.
Soy and savoury red cherries. Not unlike a top Brunello di Montalcino?
Very lightfooted on palate and while tannins are exceptionally integrated.

March 7, 2021 - Bolognese, Brovias, and more (My place, Chicago IL): Nose: The nose is drop, dead gorgeous as it fills the glass with perfumed tones of red cherries, strawberries, savory herbs, licorice, raspberries, violets, crushed rocks, earth tones, leather, and a touch of ash.
Taste: The feel is Full bodied with tart, high acidity and silky, high tannins. The structure is fairly resolved right now and has given way to a gorgeous and deep feel with red cherries, strawberries, raspberries, violets, crushed rocks, savory herbs m, tobacco, and leather tones.
Overall: This is gorgeous and really opened up in the glass. There is a refined and elegant nature to this that is immensely attractive while still having a bit of weight behind it.1 person found this helpful Comments (2) -

November 26, 2020 - Uncorked and slow-oxed for 18 hours prior to serving into 薄はり葡萄酒器 (“Leaf” day): Pale ruby with bricking rim.
Soy sauce and highly savoury. Very good cherry fruits.
Tannin structure is slightly on the more rustic side.
White spices. Really great wines but in face of the crazy lineup tonight...
