January 8, 2021 - This bottle may have been corked. In the glass, it had a very strong scent of coffee grinds and a bit of chocolate. But not in a "this is great - it smells like coffee and chocolate!". It had more of a burned coffee grinds smell which was off-putting. I made it through one glass and will try it again tonight to see if anything changes after a day of air. I'm a big fan of Freemark Abbey so this bottle came as a surprise.

January 1, 2020 - Deep, indigo in color. Some plum on the nose. Blackberry, cassis, a hint of licorice and coffee on the palate. A touch of sweetness on the finish. Full bodied with well integrated tannins.

April 2, 2019 - Deep purple - red with crimson rim. Floral nose, pencil box, tobacco. Smooth, slightly sweet, decent fruit. Little tertiary development. Medium long finish with strong tannins.
