November 20, 2021 - Wine Tasted at Acker Auction (Marea - New York NY): In 00/99/96 vertical, small tastes of each. Wonderful aromas but somewhat flat on palate, ending in a somewhat tart finish. Nowhere near the level of a stunning bottle I previously had the thrill to taste. Most likely slightly flawed.

November 20, 2021 - JK's 50th Birthday: Reserve 0349/1607. I did not think this was a perfect bottle, some Vosne aromatics but not nearly as expressive/Jayer as the other two bottles. Not fair to rate.

April 28, 2021 - Crazily young... Bought at ex-domaine auction, extremely tight for 6 hours, needed at least 9 hours to fully open up. Extremely beautiful and heavy nose and full palate, rounded edges and still no signs of tertiary. Need another 30 years till peak

October 22, 2009 - Blinded everyone, the table thought it was California. Ripe, and very clean. Just no real sense or terrior, but probably just way too young.

September 24, 2005 - Through the Decades in Burgundy - A Taste for Life 2005 (San Francisco CA): Tasting. My first Jayer Cros Parantoux. By 1999 I'm told he was just making one barrel per year, which wasn't officially even commercially released. Bottom line - I'd buy that barrel. Simply spectacular from start to finish. Fruit driven nose vastly overshadows the oak-driven spice, but the oak contributes a lushness and sexiness that makes this even more intensely "Vosne." Layer after layer of red fruit keep popping out behind the silky tannins and energetic acidity. Every taste was different - some brighter, some deeper, some spicier. Marilyn Monroe in a glass.
