June 14, 2012 - Simple Hedonisms Rosé Panel; 5/1/2012-8/5/2012: I was in the winery when this Cabernet fruit came in; small berries, ripened to 23-24 brix,with lots of hang time, picked at the end of the season.
It had all the makings of a great Rosé (not to mention an old world style balanced Cabernet.)
Barrel fermented, this very small production is a gem.
A clear, pretty, medium orange/cranberry color.
On the Nose: Rose petals. tomato vine, plum and spice
In The Mouth: Cherry mixed with Jalapeno and Bell Pepper notes. Excellent acidity buoyed by a round mouthfeel.
