  May 13, 2015 - Morel Dinner with Big Red & White Burgs and Champagne (L'Etoille du Nord, Bayport, MN): Light medium red color with plenty of bricking and lots fine sediment. PNP, drank 1 glass over an hour plus. Showing well for the age, red berries, dried, pencil lead. The palate has red currant, red cherry, dried cherry, stems, medium finish. Some described this as 70's Bordeaux like.

  April 22, 2014 - Mature: gentle with mushrooms, tomato, soy on the nose. There is no doubt this is old burg. A bit of spice. Mature on the palate as well: salty, tomato, spice, good acid. Have the flavors tired somewhat? Good structure and classic old Pinot. Cherry, some sweetness. This actually evolved a great deal over the night and many liked it better a few hours in. Impressive. Scoring from memory much later: Nose - 4.5/6, Palate - 5/6, Finish - 4.5/6, Je ne Sais Quoi - 1.5/2 = 15.5/20.
