July 15, 2017 - Great nose and awesome atmosphere at restaurant so far....after 20 minutes, it was pleasing to the nose, but needs time or a much longer decant. Extremely powerful and bold, but very high in OH even if the numbers don't confirm it. Had high expectations so take that into account, but solid wine overall.

June 29, 2017 - This is definitely not a wine for the faint of heart. It's in the big and bold Napa variety and really just screams to be drunk with red meat. Lower acidity. Higher fruit. Mostly blackberry. It's an intense wine, but enjoyable.

December 27, 2016 - Always really enjoy this wine and this night was no different. It's got this lovely brambly blackberry to it which seems to have been pretty consistent across the years. Not sure I can tell the years have changed it much, but I enjoy it nonetheless.

July 28, 2016 - Pure blackberry jam. This is a bit hardcore and much more in a traditional Napa vein. Very rich. Went super well with red meat. Not for every night, but it was nice this one.

March 9, 2016 - Acker Auction - March (Rebelle in NYC): Unfair to this wine. It was overshadowed by the 2000 Beaucastel HDJP. This wine hasn't aged quite like I had hoped. When it was younger the fruit was very prevalent, but there were hints of flavors behind that that I hoped would raise up as the fruit faded. Instead the fruit has faded a bit, but the secondary characteristics aren't coming forward and the wine just feels a touch flat. Alcohol more prevalent than some of the other wines we were drinking and not quite as balanced. Standard Constant CS flavors - lots of blackberry and touches of brambles.
