January 20, 2014 - A really nice bottle here. Lots of raspberry with some strawberry and hint of licorice. Leather, herbs and earthy notes. No heat. Not the most structured wine but very balanced. Resolved tannins.

May 21, 2011 - A Tasting of 2009 Gramenon (Shannon's): After tasting a beautiful 2009 La Sagesse, we tasted the nearly 10 year old 2001. Admittedly, this wine seemed to be past its prime. It still had plenty of fruit, but in the realm of dried fruit, strawberries and cherries. Not that this is a bad thing. It just showed its age on the palate where the acid wasn't as lively as one would've hoped for. It was soft and nuanced in the mouth, showing a notes of cigar box, baking spices and leather. Unsure of the provenance on this and admittedly a 10 year old wine with a very low sulfur regimen is risky.
