September 28, 2023 - Wines of Fratelli Revello (Chui Huay Lim): Open at about 715pm and drank about 815pm. Sour cherry, leather, earth with game notes. Fresh on the palate with obvious silky tannins and long barley like finish. Enjoyable now but would benefit from a few more years of again to soften the tannins.

December 6, 2021 - First bottle we opened was not enjoyable at all. Decided to cook with it. Second bottle was a little better but I agree with Moods. I think it is not happening.

January 25, 2020 - Un peu carré, sans élégance. Attendre ?

April 10, 2018 - Brick colored rim, showing some age. Notes of dried cherry, violets, oak, and something sort of like eucalyptus. Pretty harsh and very dry tannin on the attack and slightly stalky which makes this feel awkward. Tough to drink without a juicy T-bone steak or something similar. Cherry fruit is present but dissipates quickly, leaving an acidic puckering finish. Either needs time or is just not happening.

September 10, 2016 - Bottle purchase, date night w/ Mrs Knurd at Farina in Lafayette Square (Raleigh). Decanted at the table. Still very young and closed, hints of dried cherry and dried violet petals that eventually open up to notes of black cherry, white pepper, anise, and leather near the last glass. Tannins soft and leathery, not overly bold but still have quite a presence. 14.5% gives it a ton of body.

Not a huge fan of this as a restaurant purchase as it isn't anywhere near its peak drinking window. The $100 price tag isn't the worst markup, a little over double. Better value can be found on the list. Restaurant List Eval: B- (82).
