November 19, 2023 - Exceeded expectations. Very good bottle. Defies the vintage with layered complexity on the palate.

November 20, 2021 - Wine Tasted at Acker Auction (Marea - New York NY): In 00/99/96 vertical, small tastes of each. Complex array of fresh and maturing red cherry and berry on nose and palate with more overt fruit and spice than the 2000, also greater concentration. Long, lingering finish, ending with a regal power. My Wine of the Day. Hmmm...maybe my Wine of the Year.

November 20, 2021 - JK's 50th Birthday: Vosne, so Vosne. So perfumed, structured, big, expressive, but all in great harmony, whatever positive descriptions there are, this is it. 96+++

January 31, 2020 - Caveat: this was poured having been told that it is most likely a forgery. That being said, it was pretty darn good, despite the fact that it was a little broad fruity, and funky (animal and maybe some brett) and uncharacteristically 1996 in that regard. Fun to try and really liked it...whatever it was. Heritage Wine Blind Tasting Finals after-party at Jean-George Las Vegas

March 2, 2016 - 2nd Most Epic Burgundy Dinner (Boulevard - San Francisco CA): From magnum. Served blind in what turned out to be a nice Vosne flight. Intense red berry flavors and aromas with great density and power. Spice started as nicely pleasant, then kept intensifying with more time in glass. In fact, everything continued to evolve with more nuance unfolding with more time/air. This wine didn't jump out as great when first tasted, but was clearly monumental within 15-20 of starting to assess the flight. Magnum brought tonight by its generous original owner.

(Jayer Vosne-Romanee "Cros Parantoux") Nose of bright cherry fruit, exotic spice and some mineral. But the story is really on the palate. Spherical as they say. Incredible texture and purity along with a great finish and the acidity gives it great punch on the finish. Very '96 and very very good. My first Jayer.
