January 14, 2022 - 2019 Visit to Cromwell (Central Otago, NZ): Note that in these years the (now) “Bannockburn” cuvée was labelled “Barrel Fermented”. Blair noted these wines were typically 15% new oak. At 14.5% ABV the alcohol, and the ripeness and richness, a little more than optimal. Anyway, this wine was oxidised, dominated by Époisses. Effectively, dead.

June 12, 2009 - Oaky, but well integrated. Has depth, well put together. Will age further but best to drink soon.

June 12, 2009 - NZ offline at The Ledbury. Broader, more inense nose, but showing a lot of oak and some tropical fruit lurking behind. Full bodied on the palate with oaky tropical fruit, good fresh acidity and a long finish. Too much oak at this stage for me. *(**?)

    June 27, 2006 - Light greenish gold.
Peas, honey and sweetcorn on the nose.
Dry and smooth with good balance, excellent length.

    June 1, 2006 - Deep lemon-gold colour.
Very fragrant, butter and treacle, inviting.
Fruity attack, good balance, creamy mid palate, medium length.
