December 15, 2010 - Dark ruby to purple with some bricking at the edge. Huge nose of stewed black/rasp berries. some strawberry, leather, some kirsh. Dense palate of same with some heat. Some tannin for structure but overall the fruit character dominated. I have little experience with Amarone, especially aged ones, so the tasting was much appreciated. Thanks Julien.

June 22, 2007 - Dinner at St Jacques - The Night Before The Once In A Lifetime Dinner (Raleigh, NC): Purple in color, this wine showed a great richness to it along with strong chocolate notes. Has a port-like richness and depth to the fruit but without any of the heat and tannic structure associated with Port. Very nice with the beef but would probably do best with a cheese plate. 50+13+13+9+9 = 94
