June 20, 2016 - Pleasant, well-balanced Chardonnay – with not much more to offer than that. Was hoping for a bit more as I like some of the other estate's wines quite a bit. JH overblown on the scores as usual by about 4-5 Points at least. He's the JS of AUS!

August 1, 2015 - Developing medium intense nose of fig, oak and cream.

Dry with fresh acidity medium alcohol and body. Minerally and fairly intense with fig, yellow apple, melon and oak. Some oak tannin on he he finish makes it slightly drying, however as a whole a stylish wine.

Excellent. Very difficult tasting conditions due to my toddlers.

June 22, 2015 - Singapore Airlines - Business & Lounges; 6/22/2015-6/26/2015 (Sydney, Singapore, Frankfurt): {screwcap, 12%} A bit weedy and thin. There’s some oak, along with notions of tropical fruit, but the palate has a bilgey, dilute quality to it, despite some white fruit/chardonnay character. Light/medium-bodied at best, it always has a dirty earth aspect to the flavours; a victim of the soggiest vintage in years. Short finish; drink up, this is going nowhere.

May 26, 2014 - Monthly Tasting Lunch: Herbal and vanilla nose. Rich fruit but the same herbal note pervades. No length to it.

May 18, 2014 - Yering Station is one of the most consistent producers of Chardonnay in the Yarra Valley, imminently drinkable on release but having the ability to age gracefully and unfurl beguiling complexity with time.

The 2011 release is one for the longer term, it is a lightly golden yellow with a nose that shows new oak inputs but doesn't mask the nectarine and ripe white peach characters.

The palate has a sheath of vanillin softness that will continue to integrate over time, but in it's youth provides a plush backdrop against which rounded peach and precise apple tinged acidity bounce off one another. The finish gives toasted almond richness and has great length of white stone fruits.

This is a wine that will reward cellaring.
