I usually like mature chardonnay, but I think this would be a crowd pleaser too as it's still lively and fresh while providing a deep flavor profile. -

June 29, 2012 - I've never had the 2001 before, so perhaps this wine has lost some intensity that I'm not aware of. Subtle but nice nose of a light vanilla and citrus. On the palate, predominantly citrus with a bit of peach and pear.
