January 14, 2022 - 2019 Visit to Cromwell (Central Otago, NZ): Brian served this wine double blind with the Boillot. Deeper gold than the Boillot. A “later picked year”, Brian noted. Aromas of wet oyster shell, lemons and limes, peaches and nectarines and hints of tropical fruit. On palate, richer and plusher than the Boillot. More apparent spicy, vanillin oak. Overall, an excellent Chardonnay, the elements in good balance.

December 28, 2021 - 2019 Visit to North Canterbury, NZ: Small pour. Served double blind. A beautiful bouquet: mineral, citric and a little reductive. Understated. On palate, balanced and well proportioned. Initially, I thought it was a classy Côte de Beaune, but was not surprised on the reveal. One of NZ's best chardonnay labels, showing very well on the night. In a great spot. Drink or hold.

August 18, 2021 - Toasted brioche on the nose with hint melon and other stone fruits. Beautifully weighted body with lovely citrus tone and a very lively and racy acidity. Interestingly, oak did not seem to surface but you know that it is somewhere in the background. Finish was very long and lingered forever with peach and pear notes, stupendous.
Drink now or 3+ years. -

January 3, 2020 - Perfectly balanced. Still very fresh, delicious round fruit restrained by razor sharp acidity. Very impressive.
