July 28, 2023 - Wow, wow! Possibly the best 1988 I have drunk. Cork came out firm, and is in good shape. Decanted… pretty, clear red in color, still rather dark, it is a 1988 and Latricieres. First taste is a grin, yep it’s going to be great. This wine is a combination of spices and wet red clay, strawberries in an iron bowl, rhubarb and more baking spices, freshly dug earth. Also thoughts of wet stones and forest floor. This wine is very fresh, and very young for 35. I believe it will improve under the right conditions.

February 3, 2013 - Super Bowl 2013 (Cumming, GA): Little color change to the light red color, looks aged; sweet, ripe, red fruit on the nose along with some rhubarb and raddish; still rich yet delicate, very nice; nearing the end of its drinking plateau, reminded me more of a Burgundian Chateauneuf ('89 Centenaire) than a Burg due to the weight and fruit profile.

September 1, 2012 - Bottle was in OWC with 2-3cm fill. Cork was a bit crumbly but was able to extract it intact and was only stained 1/4 way up. Reddish brown in color. Some meaty aromas, crushed oyster shells, and dried fruit aromas. The palate was salty and savory with a bit of drying tannins. No detectable sweetness or fruit on the palate.

January 19, 2008 - Surprisingly fruitful and delightful despite its age.
