August 13, 2014 - Cork was in excellent condition, as was the wine. Plums, stewed fruit, initially hints of raisin but that faded. Three experienced tasters were quite pleased with the bottle.

December 18, 2010 - Wine-Soaked Saturday, Mostly Burgs (Washington, DC): nose shows stewed fruits. smells tired. still some lamb and tobacco. gamey. very low on the fruit. there's a flavor that's much closer to ashes than tobacco. subtle wine. verging on too weak for me. but if you like earthy, nonfruity wines, this is in a good place. in my opinion, it's five or ten years too late.
