Community Tasting Notes 8

  • A Great Wine Life Likes this wine: 90 points

September 5, 2016 - Appearance is medium yellow, light intensity. On the nose, pronounced lime zest, pear and gooseberry. Delicate white floral and vibrant fresh garden herbs (basil, parsley come to mind). Mild flinty-ness. On the palate, lovely refreshing crisp acidity, very mild tropical fruit flavor of kiwi or banana. Nice weight and complexity. Pairing this - rather surprisingly - with a baked salmon steak with heirloom tomato, olive & caper "Niçoise" sauce.

  • Dionysusx Likes this wine: 92 points

September 4, 2016 - Very versatile, able to stand up to robust dishes and light fare. Every sip seems to reveal a different and wonderful flavor.

April 24, 2016 - Smooth and crisp, terrific with spicy foods and salads alike. Peach and honey on the nose with green apple, pear and a light caramel finish. An excellent white blend from red wine country.

  • bacchus of knockholt Likes this wine: 88 points

April 6, 2016 - Clean pear fruit nose with the flavours delivering ripe pear and lime flavours too with a delicious mineral streak on the finish. Very good and consistently reliable wine.

March 15, 2016 - Broadbent Vinho Verde, Port, Madeira: Moderate intensity rose petal (medium terpenes). Light in the mouth. Dry. Moderate alcohol - 12% (actually 12.5%). Medium plus acid. Moderate phenolic bitterness. Kind of like a lighter, less aromatic, dry Muscat.
