August 16, 2014 - Beautiful golden honey color and large bouquet of overripe fruit; medium legs, silky texture on the tongue starts with a sweet lychee taste on the tongue rounding to honey mixed with overripe peach ending with just a little pinch of the tongue.

August 10, 2014 - complex pear, earth, lychee and a je ne sais quoi sweet earth density that upped the ante. Medium sweetness/acidity.

August 4, 2014 - Dinner at Ripple (Ripple - Cleveland Park - Washington, DC): Rich nose of apricot, honey, butterscotch, dusting oil and some toasty-nutty elements. Gobs of white peach, pineapple, orange peel and honey on the palate, backed up by baked pear, almonds, honeycomb and white tea. Complex as hell, this deserves years of cellaring, but opens up nicely. Didn't decant, but probably should have. By no means flabby, but if this had just a bit more acid, I'd totally freak (but I'm a huge acid fan).

August 4, 2014 - Lovely, even beautiful notes of tropical fruit, ripe apricots and that evanescant nose of good Sauternes. Compared to a 2009 Linden it had less of an acidic backbone than I would have liked but make no list ale this is an excellent wine

July 22, 2014 - The wine looks yellow gold colored. The legs are medium. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like orange, apricot, lychee, passion fruit, pineapple, guava, light toast, honeysuckle, orange blossom, botrytised and honey. It tastes like apricot, lychee, pineapple, mineral, light toast, vanilla, orange blossom, botrytised and honey. The body is medium/full. The wine has round texture. The wine finishes medium. The wine has medium acidity.

(Chateau Doisy Vedrines Sauternes) COLOR-medium golden; NOSE-enormous bouquet; dried apricots for day; leachy fruit; caramel & cantaloupe; orange & banana peel; TASTE-exceptional balance; elegance & polish; the length is incredible; apricots; little peach on the back-end; I adore the banana peel; silkier than last time I had it; this has more balance than many dessert wines; secondary butterscotch & caramel; at $30-$50, this is a remarkable value; this rocks my face off; the perfect style of Sauterne for me w/ it's tremendous balance; WS-93; GV-99

(Chateau Doisy-Védrines Barsac) A very bright and lively set of aromatics here, showing nice vanilla, honey and pineapple characteristics. Rich and creamy, with a rather soft and fleshy style, with acidity also on the low side. There is a little grip running beneath it all, and a rather candied pastille character to the fruit, nicely livened up with some good botrytis. Very good indeed.
