May 8, 2016 - Everything I look for in a Sauternes (paired extremely well with ricotta and lemon cake): tension, tactile, light botrytis, ripe and confit orange zest, pineapple, apricot and freshness. Ready to go and for holding 5-7 years easily.

    Excellent, rien n`accroche.

February 13, 2016 - Regular. Lack acidity and persistence. Thousands of miles away from the 2011 crop that drank two years ago.

January 23, 2015 - Acidity has softened since last bottle opened over a year ago. Delicious still, but noticed a touch of jamminess due to the slight decrease in acidity.

December 25, 2014 - Powerful aromas, almost leaping from the glass with ripe pineapple fruit and vanilla custard. Bright, intense and really sweet but balanced by the good acidity. Huge depth of flavour with layers of tropical fruits, honey and barley sugar. Creamy vanilla finish that lingers for a while. Superb and still a baby.

(Chateau Doisy Vedrines Sauternes) COLOR-medium golden; NOSE-enormous bouquet; dried apricots for day; leachy fruit; caramel & cantaloupe; orange & banana peel; TASTE-exceptional balance; elegance & polish; the length is incredible; apricots; little peach on the back-end; I adore the banana peel; silkier than last time I had it; this has more balance than many dessert wines; secondary butterscotch & caramel; at $30-$50, this is a remarkable value; this rocks my face off; the perfect style of Sauterne for me w/ it's tremendous balance; WS-93; GV-99

(Chateau Doisy-Védrines Barsac) A very bright and lively set of aromatics here, showing nice vanilla, honey and pineapple characteristics. Rich and creamy, with a rather soft and fleshy style, with acidity also on the low side. There is a little grip running beneath it all, and a rather candied pastille character to the fruit, nicely livened up with some good botrytis. Very good indeed.
