December 25, 2014 - Golden color with an effusive nose of honeycomb, a bit of yeast, and anjou pears. On the palate this is delicate but delivers the goods. Well balanced sweet and acidity with solid complexity. Not the most concentrated Sauternes yet still young and good enough to amaze you. 92-93

December 8, 2014 - Lovely light floral-dried apricot-spicy nose and palate. Definitely doesn't have the depth and intensity of the more powerful Sauternes, but plenty of character and finesse. A lovely light elegant Barsac, definitely much better now than it was 5 years ago but probably not one for the ages. Sweet, light, floral and pretty, like the first maple syrup of the season. 14%, $25/375ml.

December 2, 2014 - Perfectly balanced and elegant sauternes. Doesn't feel full bodied, it glides on the palate, very graceful entry. Very, very perfumed with incredible depth of aromas and flavors - toasted coconut, apricot, poached pear, dried fig. Quite fresh. A versatile sauternes that can also be enjoyed with lighter entrees - roasted fish and roasted poultry.

December 1, 2014 - Nez charmeur sur la cire d'abeille, les abricots, la poire et une pointe de caramel.
En bouche, belle équilbre sucre/acidité. Des pêches avec des ananas et du miel, passablement long et succulent. Excellent.

November 6, 2014 - This thing goes forever!!! Opened up on 10/04 and completely forgot about it for two weeks. Found it in the garage and has kept it in the fridge since. Still going strong and probably tastes ever better. Gave a sip to me 2 year old daughter and she came back asking for another one. Well, I have enough in stock to open a bottle at your wedding!!!

(Chateau Doisy Vedrines Sauternes) COLOR-medium golden; NOSE-enormous bouquet; dried apricots for day; leachy fruit; caramel & cantaloupe; orange & banana peel; TASTE-exceptional balance; elegance & polish; the length is incredible; apricots; little peach on the back-end; I adore the banana peel; silkier than last time I had it; this has more balance than many dessert wines; secondary butterscotch & caramel; at $30-$50, this is a remarkable value; this rocks my face off; the perfect style of Sauterne for me w/ it's tremendous balance; WS-93; GV-99

(Chateau Doisy-Védrines Barsac) A very bright and lively set of aromatics here, showing nice vanilla, honey and pineapple characteristics. Rich and creamy, with a rather soft and fleshy style, with acidity also on the low side. There is a little grip running beneath it all, and a rather candied pastille character to the fruit, nicely livened up with some good botrytis. Very good indeed.
