October 28, 2016 - 93-94: slightly disappointed that this didn't score a little higher, but still excellent. Getting golden in color, nose was a little shy, palate was rich and intense. Acid was diminishing, but still there. Might be in a bit of an awkward stage, or could be topping out. Excellent. From 375ml.

September 25, 2016 - This is clearly a step up from an everyday Sauternes. Nice depth & complexity. Well worth the $20 I paid for it and perfect for a cooler early fall day.

September 16, 2016 - Intense tangerine and apricot aromas. Full body. Possesses a lovely lightness despite the depth of toffee and peach flavours. Super long.

July 23, 2016 - Medium golden color. Nose of honey and raisined grapes with a bit of vanilla custard. Similar flavors on the palate with medium+ acid and a rich, sweet mouthfeel and finish. A touch of heat lingered on the finish but overall, quite enjoyable. I am curious as to the long term prospects of this wine so I will try my next bottle in a couple of years.

May 8, 2016 - Everything I look for in a Sauternes (paired extremely well with ricotta and lemon cake): tension, tactile, light botrytis, ripe and confit orange zest, pineapple, apricot and freshness. Ready to go and for holding 5-7 years easily.

(Chateau Doisy Vedrines Sauternes) COLOR-medium golden; NOSE-enormous bouquet; dried apricots for day; leachy fruit; caramel & cantaloupe; orange & banana peel; TASTE-exceptional balance; elegance & polish; the length is incredible; apricots; little peach on the back-end; I adore the banana peel; silkier than last time I had it; this has more balance than many dessert wines; secondary butterscotch & caramel; at $30-$50, this is a remarkable value; this rocks my face off; the perfect style of Sauterne for me w/ it's tremendous balance; WS-93; GV-99

(Chateau Doisy-Védrines Barsac) A very bright and lively set of aromatics here, showing nice vanilla, honey and pineapple characteristics. Rich and creamy, with a rather soft and fleshy style, with acidity also on the low side. There is a little grip running beneath it all, and a rather candied pastille character to the fruit, nicely livened up with some good botrytis. Very good indeed.
