May 3, 2024 - Notes of dough and pear fruit. Rocky minerality. Dry on the palate, nice acidity structure with autolytic layers, but early days. This started off rather restrained and even while intensity kept building, never appeared fully open. Maybe best to give it some time…

May 2, 2024 - From the 2018 harvest and disgorged April 2021. Extra-brut, but no specific dosage info. 50/25/25 PN/C/PB
The nose is very forward and quite complex: mineral (chalk & iodine) notes, salinity, but also some sweet white flowers and a lemony note.
The palate largely follows the nose, perhaps lighter than I expected, crisp (but not tart), lemon and salinity lead, but there's a floral note running throughout. The finish is slightly drying and slate-y. This is not an austere wine, but it doesn't have a lot of weight on the palate, so for me it's best as an aperitif/palate-cleanser.
Overall, it's rather nice, and decent, if not great, QPR at the ~US$46 that I paid.1 person found this helpful Comment -

March 30, 2024 - Five Course Wine Pairing at Blackberry Farm - The Barn (The lovely East Tennessee mountains): Wine pairing at Blackberry Farm - The Barn. This bottle contained grapes mostly from the '19 vintage. Med weight and pleasant. Good pairing with smoked califlower app. Without food it was 89pts. With food improved to 90pts.
