September 24, 2021 - Popped, decanted and poured. Rich black fruit with intense and sweet baking spice. Very good weight, depth and concentration. Opulent fruit was too flashy to start, but calmed down after an hour in glass. Still some pronounced new oak that needs to integrate further. Better 2024 forward.

June 8, 2019 - Opens with a big blast of pencil shavings from the oak, but it backs off with some airtime. What it doesn't do is offer a very much fruit - it feels hollow in the middle and austere around the edges, with tarry/gravelly flavors more prominent than the fruit and a boxy, austere structure. Some plumminess comes out the next day to flesh it out and smooth it out a bit, though the wood inflections surface again too. Not up to its usual standard this vintage.
