January 4, 2023 - Deep bloodred slightly bricking pink. Seductive and beguiling aged rhone nose of purple lilac flowers, bacon fat, blue and blackberries, sweet dried herbs almost vanillin oak, sweat, touch of cola. With air, some black pepper notes. A bit hot on nose which gives it a slightly portlike quality. On palate - touch of heat but reflects all of the components on the nose. Tannins smooth and resolved. Sweet finish with a touch of alcohol and sour prunes. Drink up this absolute beauty.

November 27, 2022 - Aromatics on this wine are off the charts, just really pretty. Fruit is deep, powerful and spicy, but also manages to be extremely elegant and classy. Excellent!

December 25, 2021 - A very classic aged Northern Rhone with fine peppery notes, game, and then the oak kiss on the finish that I associate with Guigal.

December 11, 2021 - Decanted 3 hrs. Cork perfect. Some funk on opening, disappeared on drinking time. Brownish rim, colour more like a Bx than Syrah. Large bq w blackberries, tobacco leaves, white pepper, charcuteries, dried cherries. Medium+ body w silky tannins, nice acidity, dark fruits segueing into an aftertaste w herbs, touch of salinity. Complex aftertaste 45+ seconds. Extremely elegant for what really is a rather powerful wine. Probably 2-3 yrs after absolute peak, but still a great wine!

September 11, 2021 - Fine Wines SG - Northern Rhone Grand Cru Discovery Pack (Delivered to Home): Somewhat lightish garnet core with fading and browning towards the rim. Overripe brambles, white pepper, and Gula Melaka on the nose. Softened tannins, while acids seem to show tartness, with flavours of pepper and charcuterie showing first, then dried herbs, then a hint of dried cherry towards the back, which gives way back to the pepper and herbs. Long finish but mainly of peppers and dried herbs. Seems like it had seen better days and is on the decline
