May 6, 2023 - very dark purple, almost black in the center of the glass. nose is concentrated dark berries… blackberry, blueberry, vanilla, spice. the flavour profile is powerful and rich, silky on entry, then spicy. there’s a delayed but powerful acidic punch immediately afterwards along with ripe berry fruit which segues into a long earthy peppery finish.

July 24, 2021 - Very much a new world wine albeit a bit more restrained than expected and definitely carried the 15.4% alc very well. Big wine but also elegant, and this followed a massive Aussie ( wild creek 2013 Springflat , Papies 2013) full of heat and really outclassed it.
This does have an elegance and charm in its massiveness and definitely has a cool climate feel to it.solid fruit, well rounded and polished wine and we do feel has a lot of ageing capacity. 92 for now

August 20, 2020 - Sexy South Americans (Basser's): Green bell pepper, dark fruits and some minerals on the nose. Ready to be consumed. Palate lush and fruity, nice complexity. Has all that you could want in a wine. Just a delicious wine. Finished 1 out of 6, was my number 2 wine.

April 26, 2019 - Drank this at Jade Palace to celebrate the farewell of a colleague.

Very young, and deprived of air before serving. Tasting here for potential rather than quality.

Dark purple in colour with a tight palate. Explosive and generous with red fruit flavours and fruit cake mouthfeel.

Wait 10 years at the very least.

November 4, 2018 - Concentrated and slightly jammy notes of blackberries, spices, mocha on the nose. On the palate fresh and vibrant, well integrated tannins, generous fruit, great persistence. Very nice. 91-92+
