April 19, 2024 - Chandon de Briailles Tasting: Quite a different style from 20/21. Richer and more fat, what I would associate more with typical powerful Burgundy chardonnay. Super super long and great freshness nonetheless. This needs a lot of time.

July 18, 2022 - (No sulfur version) Marmite, oil shale and dried flowers on the nose. Mortality in a glass. Mineral and salty on the front with lime zest, bay leaf and lean tropical fruits. A slight touch of vanilla. Just a filthy vibe while retaining regality. Incredible stuff.

August 18, 2021 - The Chardonnay comes 65% from the Grand Cru site Corton Bressandes and 35% from Corton Les Chaumes. Thus, this Chardonnay comes from sites that were actually reserved for Pinot Noir. These sites are characterized by Bajocium and Oxford limestone with pebbles, clay and a high iron content. The Chardonnay was pressed in whole bunches.

The white Corton from the red soils offers an exciting and complex aroma. On the entry, the Chardonnay is reminiscent of pears, pineapple and Charantais melons combined with a bit of smoke and wood. It is gradually joined by citrus notes, coriander, jasmine and clover, chalk, a little papaya and a fine herbal spiciness.

On the palate, the 2019 Corton blanc is initially creamy and sensual. Almond cream comes to mind, then lemon curd, again pineapple and fresh lemons. The Grand Cru becomes juicier and more and more crystalline, showing a light tannin and a distinct minerality. On the finish, the Corton gets juicier and juicier, not least because of the slight saltiness it holds. It still seems very closed, but will find and develop more and more over the years.
