April 17, 2024 - Dang this was really fantastic, great example of what older cru Beaujolais can be. Day 2 leftovers: flat out beautiful wine. Nose is dark plum, a touch herbal leaning towards eucalyptus, a touch floral leaning towards roses, a bit of graphite. Super harmonious and layered, still vibrant dark cherry fruit but not at all dense or heavy, velvety texture, nice bright cherry acidity on the finish and long lingering pleasant tartness. I think this has years to go still in peak range.

April 16, 2024 - Savory on the nose with a little brett, a little leather, and raspberry fruit, carrying forward on the palate where the leather becomes more prominent but with plenty of fruit. Holding up extremely well.

December 30, 2014 - Drinking with Dressner (Act II) (Le Caveau, Chamblee, GA): Screaming brett beyond even my high tolerance.

December 20, 2007 - Schoolight dinner (NYC): If anything, fresher than the last bottle. Fresh red berries, beef blood, (clean) earth, some plums, and leather. Reminds me of a nice Cornas.

July 31, 2007 - All I can say is, wow! That was fantastic! Forget everything I said about the tardive being for early consumption. This was one great bottle of wine: layer upon layer, deep as you could want without anything forced. Just an incredible bottle. It's in a perfect spot now but not in any danger of falling apart.
