November 18, 2023 - I like what the winery was doing in '06. This Syrah was rich, deep and smooth, drinking nicely right now but with some years left. Not an overly powerful wine but everything is in the right place.

92-93 pts

November 16, 2022 - La Tablee: Rayas Dinner with Gregory Castells & Martine Saunier (La Mercerie): Fun to try one of the rarer wines from the estate. We don't often do the Syrah and yet it is a tasty one. This was still on the young side. Perhaps a bit more alcohol. From a vineyard with sandstone, rocks, and sandy soil which is quite cold and allows for a very long hang time on the vines. It's interesting how very light and elegant a Syrah can get and this wine always shows that.

92-93 pts

December 29, 2017 - This intense aromas on the nose, fine like the spice market in Dubai, smell of crushed pepper, rich lush wild forest berries, meaty, really deep on the midpalate, fresh with still some grainy tannin, ending long+ impressive with a stunning finesse, with some slow ox or an one+ hour decant enjoy from now on and over the next decade+, ***(*-?), 93+ potential
