Community Tasting Notes 4

October 11, 2011 - Red and black cherry, mineral notes on the nose. This is sumptuous, and ripe, on the front end, with focused red and black cherry flavors, dry extract, and an acidic edge that cleanses the palate. In all, a truly unbelievable villages, which is coming into its own, and could even use a few years yet to fully come into focus. Hell of a vintage, that 2005.

March 10, 2009 - Martine's Wines Portfolio tasting (MK, Chicago IL): nose: nice straightforward nose of red cherries, spice tones, bits of earth and red fruits. Nice and balanced with decent depth

taste: good light feel with medium+ acidity providing tones of red cherries, red fruits and hints of spice

overall: a nice village wine. Easy drinking and should be ready to fully go in a year or two to fully get the acidity in check. Not getting any of the reduction that the previous taster did, so hopefully they had an off bottle

October 18, 2008 - Massive reduction on the nose. Burnt rubber. No other way about it. Also pinecone, fresh-cut pine cone. Finally the slightest hint of high-pitched red fruit. Some cranberry frut here, some sour cherry. Rustic to the point of being nearly flawed. But what remains of the fruit is refreshing and lithe. Flawed?
