September 22, 2023 - The one with MSD + Bonnes Mares (Chapter 1 Wine Bar): Possibly my favourite nose of the evening even though it was showing way more advanced. Thought this was the 2002 but most folks thought it was in the 80s and 90s. Not that it was dying but it still had good structure and fruit - blood orange, cranberries and bayberries come to the fore that was supported by some salinity, earth and sage. Drinking well today albeit advanced.

September 22, 2023 - Morey Saint Denis & Bonne Mares: Pronounced nose intensity with notes of mushroom, spices, ripe red fruits, toast. Medium acidity and medium tannin. Tannin is fine. Drinking at its best. Will not improve further. At its peak or last drinking window. Very enjoyable.

May 27, 2023 - A semi-flawed bottle it seems like. Way to mature in the fruit profil. Still drinkable, but it missing the freshness and complexity that you will expect from a top vineyard and quality producer.

February 19, 2019 - Elegant nose full of violets, wet forest floor, strawberries and cherries. Hints of liquorize. Pencil shavings and bonfire. Bacon. Palate is velvety soft and alluring. Powerful, fruity and paired with fine tuned tannins all the way in the back. Opens up even more with air. Lovely! A real treat to drink right now, but I can see it still benefitting from at least 5-10 years of cellaring.

There is also the issue of Arlaud continously underperforming compared to the appellation. And this is also the case with this bottle. A great Bonnes Mares from a great producer should be a wow-wine. This is not a wow-wine. It’s just a very well made wine with no faults what so ever and seamless integrated tannins in the cold, concentrated lovely and complex fruit. I can not put my finger on anything, but still the score is closer to 92 than 94.

February 16, 2012 - 2011's Top 10 (Wine Route Savion): Typical red-orange fade color. Superb on the nose, with great floweriness and a nice sweetness in the background. Light bodied and well balanced. Good acidity and very soft, almost no noticeable tannins (84$)
