January 25, 2024 - The Roots Fund Charity Wine Dinner (Atelier - Chicago IL): Late night taste. I haven't tasted this wine in nearly two decades, and liked it much more tonight vs 2005. Layered and complex with spice and earth supporting even more fresh and mature black fruits. At a great place now.

January 25, 2024 - The Roots Fund - Chicago Fundraising Dinner (Atelier - Chicago, IL): A special vintage of this wine and it shows. Lovely tobacco, bell pepper and cedar accents throughout with rich, concentrated plum fruit that has pristine balance. In the middle of its peak drinking window.

November 10, 2023 - Absolutely clear and clean right out of the bottle, this gained some complexity and depth with air. Mint, eucalyptus, black tea, leather, blueberries, a very good bottle of this wine. I think I should wait with further bottles though, as I think they will improve substantially with another 5 years.

June 23, 2023 - Drank two independent bottles two weeks apart. One was bought from heritage with nightmarish logistics and the other at auction in Europe, I expected them to show quite different, but they were virtually identical. Youthful, dark fruit, hallmark eucalyptus and mint. Both needed nearly two hours in the decanter to really shine. This is one of the very best vintages of Martha and shows an incredibly promising future. This might earn triple digits in 10 years.
