Community Tasting Notes 3

September 7, 2010 - Deep bright yellow color... on the nose very mineral driven with subtle floral citrus notes, leesy aromas, background barrique spice, no hints botrytis, some minor diactyl notes. On the palate this is dry, firm with high acidity, some phenolics, low to moderate alcohol. The wine balance wise is on the firm acidic/phenolic side of the spectrum, length is very good, intensity is moderate to high, complexity is moderate to high. The wine has finesse though is a little course texturally, good expression of place. Overall this wine appeals to those who like their white Burg firm and focused, reduced... very little fleshiness or charm here. Drinking close to its peak but in no danger of fading fast... oustanding wine especially for its style though doesn't hit it out of the park.

December 7, 2009 - Terroir-istes International - France, Burgundy, Corton White (Rodwell House): Closed initially, the wine starts to rise in the glass with a gentle perfume and some stone fruits. Vibrant acidity on the entry, the wine seems to stretch its arms to show the wonderful depth of flavour and richness with a full body and powerful mid-palate. Excellent ripe fruits, the thread of acid keeps the whole show on the road as the biceps start to ripple. Perhaps a little curmudgeonly?

October 15, 2009 - Golden lemony in colour. Light on the oak. Fine wine with character and complexity. a great overall wine but where is the magic. Tasted out of a magnum in BfC burgandy grand cru workshop.
