June 5, 2021 - I shared two bottles of this wine with family and a close friend over the weekend. The interest was that one bottle had a screw cap while the other was under cork. 2009 was the year that Lake's Folly introduced screw caps for their Chardonnay and I obtained a few under each seals. Both were stored under identical conditions for 11 years. Both wines were sound and beautiful to drink. Under scew cap the wine was pale lemon, with a bright and more lifted flavour profile. Under cork, the wine was yellow gold with a more buttery flavour in a flat (or fat) profile. The screw cap wine had time left, while that under cork was at the end of its drinking window. Concensus favoured the screw cap as the preferred wine on the night.

August 18, 2019 - Pale lemon green in the glass. Oak quite dominant on the first 30 minutes, but opens up more to classic Chardonnay aromas - peach, nectarine, pineapple, banana, bit of pear. Medium acidity is well-balanced with the alcohol, but is in slow decline. There still is character in this wine, don't get me wrong, but it will only last for 2-3 more years tops. If compared to Burgundy, one can say that this is reminiscent of a Montrachet. Oak & lees dosage done right still leaving room for that nice tropical character to shine.

July 25, 2019 - Initially good acidity had hopes riding high but then didn't get the depth and later found it bitter rather than refreshing on this hot London evening.

October 27, 2016 - The return of JonnyG: Floral, musk, straw and chalk. Full bodied but has the acidity to keep up. Good flow and controlled power here. Lots of appeal.

October 27, 2016 - Full-bodied and intense. The acidity was a bit out of balance with the fruit, to me, but I still liked its intensity quite a lot.
