2012 Belle Glos Pinot Noir Dairyman

Community Tasting Note

Does not like this wine:

84 Points

Sunday, August 31, 2014 - In a blind tasting, and I have some training, I would never, ever, guess this was a pinot noir. Alcohol-10 off the charts boozy. It made my eyes water and the legs are constant and thick. Tannins-0 there are none. Sugar-8 cloyingly sweet, chill if you have a chance. Acidity-2. A lopsided and wonky outcome, no balance. Deep dark purple, pinot noir? Really? Taste: Lowney's chocolate covered cherries and that's pretty much it since anything else is covered by sugar and booze. At the end I would have guessed cheaply made Sforzato. I do Sforzato an injustice. Hey, my neighbor who knows nothing about wine liked it. I gave her the rest of the bottle. Switched to rye and coke. Lots of booze, sugar and alcohol and no tannins either.
