Friday, November 4, 2016 - 2016 Villa d’Este Wine Symposium - Kelly, Alan and Kevin's excellent adventure; 11/3/2016-11/12/2016 (Villa D’este, Lake Como, Piedmont, Milan and Frankfurt): Beautiful clean refreshing nose, candied lemon and orange zest, baked apple, cinnamon, a hint of smoke and mineral. Excellent concentration, perfect amount of acidity and mineral, generous apple driven palate impression, abundant very fine mousse, a hint of sweetness that is very attractive and a long clean finish. A great palate cleanser, pretty serious Champagne. Drinking beautifully already but will certain improve as Cristal tend to age very well.

11/18/2016 10:42:00 AM - fully concur but have put up 4 of these on auction at winebid coming during the week before Turkey Day. I keep 2 and have really enjoyed 2 other bottles. Cristal is fun immediately but really struts its stuff after aging many years which this vintage will do gracefully. Also have 1999 and 2007 in the cellar. I might have to pick up a 2006 just to see how it ages compared with the 2 other post 2000 vintages.
