Sunday, January 27, 2019 - The nose on this is delicious, with toffee/caramel as well as tart cherry and some leather. Palate though is thin -- with much higher acidity than the last few vintages. It's a kind of citric acidity, obtrusive rather than framing (and I'm an acid-freak). Not sure how this will develop but will revisit the rest of the bottle over the next couple nights to see how it progresses. Edit. After two nights in the fridge I retasted. The underlying material had plumped up a little but the dominant, citric acidity remained. We didn't finish the bottle as it just wasn't very enjoyable. The contrast with the resonant, easy, rich flavors of the 2005 vintage and the restrained elegance of the 2004 , couldn't be more marked.

1/29/2019 7:21:00 PM - Hello @ Theronware...Thanks for the edited update and follow up. Sorry to hear this outcome for your bottle. Glad to have some 2005 on stash as you refer to. Might suggest to avoid the fridge next time. cincin
