Saturday, May 25, 2019 - A little disappointed at the showing here, but I suppose a little variability comes with the territory with LdH. Beautiful, classic nose on opening, with crushed cherry, leather, warm soil, and dill aromas. The usual Bosconia litheness on the palate with resolved tannins and a lovely line of acidity, but it fell flat on the finish, which only seemed to get more sour and short as it sat in the glass (where usually LdH actually picks up steam with air). Not sure if it was just an off bottle, as the notes here are generally more enthusiastic, but I'll give this another whirl in 5 years and see if it finds another gear...
