Friday, October 14, 2022 - I popped open one of these as I just got my '19 futures delivered and thought I'd try a handful. This was a stunner and a sharp contrast to the half bottle of '19 Pontet Canet I had the night before. This was so visceral, inviting and incisive. While young, it wasn't overtly tannic or closed but vibrant and full of personality. I can see why JD gave this 100pts. One of the best Bordeaux I've had in a long time. I've fond memories of a case of '88 I finished a long time ago. This has power but nothing overwhelming. Frankly this is far more inviting than even the '10 Pontet Canet and '10 Haut Bailly which I've had recently. Kept half the bottle to try tomorrow. 98++pts.
Finished this on the 2nd night after vacuum-seal - it held up well but lost some of the liveliness, freshness and vibrancy it had on the first evening.
