Friday, November 4, 2022 - I purchased this magnum over four years ago and knowing nobody else who really appreciates aged Loire reds, particularly of such humble origins and modest price, sat on this until I finally saw back-to-back meals to pair it with. I feel lucky that though this is certainly into its downslope, my bottle was in excellent condition and drank beautifully. (The cork was in very good condition.) Drank the first night with a hearty vegetable soup and the second with a stuffed eggplant Moroccan-ish style. The wine also drank beautifully on its own, with only slight drying. A nice wine to slowly sip while reading.

Still showing some red fruits and tomato leaf, but folded into an autumnal vibe with the red fruits joined by tertiary notes of leather, turned damp leaves, and earth. Any vegetal elements have become subsumed, decayed into another state.

Excellent QPR at $40 USD for a magnum
