Thursday, November 17, 2022 - Blend: Nero d'Avola, Petit Verdot, Syrah and other grapes
from south-western Sicily, Contessa Entellina Estate, and nearby areas
at 200-400 m with clay loam and 20-30% limestone soils and vines
planted 4,500-6,000/ha yielding ~4-5 tons/ha.
Manual harvest into crates with careful in field selection.
Second selection with latest generation destemmer.
12-day fermentation in stainless steel and maceration on the skins
at 26 - 30° C.
Aged 13-14 months in new french oak barriques,
and 24+ months in bottle.
13.8% Abv.
History: Founded in Sicily in 1983 by Giacomo (1937-2016) and Gabriella Rallo,
comprising today three wineries in three different terroirs:
Marsala, Contessa Entellina and Pantelleria.
Proprietors: The Rallo Family: Gabriella and offsprings, Antonio, and José (5th gen).
Winemaker: Antonio Rallo

A(ccuracy)=2: Deep ruby/purple. Intense rustic blend.
B(alance)=2: Ripe fruit with adequate structure.
C(omplexity)=2: Dark berries, plum, toast, tobacco, earth.
D(epth)=2: Chewy mouthfeel. Full length and finish.
