Saturday, February 4, 2023 - Still purplish-ruby to rim. Fresh and fulsome aromas of currant, red licorice, pomegranate, roses, and brown sugar. Currant and red berries illuminate the palate and the 14.5% alcohol bites but doesn’t yet overwhelm the structure. It does unfortunately impart a perceptible bitterness that strongly flavored food subdues. The wine has enough sweetness and fruit structure to make it enjoyable now but it may succumb to the high alcohol in the not-too-distant future. Enjoy soon.
