95 Points

Saturday, February 18, 2023 - - from magnum, decanted 1h.
- At the beginning closed in the nose, sandy and stony, not super tertiary, red fruity, wild cherries, herbaceous, roses. Also has dark fruity aromas, especially with time these come and go.
- In the mouth high acidity, red fruity, but still very present tannins, which are still too pronounced at the moment. Very fresh and direct but tannins are too high, a bit grainy. One notices the traditional art of making wines with little wood influence. It is deep and you have to take a lot of time to understand this wine.
- This Rinaldi (without indicating a particular terroir, by the way) is just not quite on the peak and at the beginning a bit disappointing for this great vintage in Piedmont. With time, the wine opens up more and more and becomes accessible. It is simply a raw and honest Barolo. Should definitely be decanted for 3 hours (especially from the magnum). Then it is really fun and you want to drink more and more!
- 92 points at the beginning, which then develops into 95 points.
