Monday, February 27, 2023 - Old World nose of damp earth and wood. Dark plum. Menthol. Tasted over 3 days and it just keeps going - definitely in need of lengthy decant as it’s showing on days 2 and 3 were exceptional. A band of spicy red fruit - strangely, more like raspberry than anything else I can identify. The Old World nose doesn’t carry forward on the palate as much - I think a few more years and it will. Lengthy finish with a final top note of mentholated plum. Engaging wine.
