Saturday, April 15, 2023 - Last minute impromptu meet-up at ESBK. Drank in Grassl 1855.
Appearance is clear, medium intensity, ruby colour with thin garnet rim. Legs.
Nose medium+ intensity, with aromas of savoury dark olives, dark red cherries, dark plums, dark earth. Some other mentioned bits of brett but I wasn't really getting any. Developing.
On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium alcohol (13.5%), structured but fine high tannins, full body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of savoury black dark olives, dark red cherries, dark plums, earth and minerals. Long finish.
Very good quality. Exuding masculine elegance. Dark, ripe, built to age. Will improve with more time.
