Opening party at Meyer. Tasted blind. Drank in Sydonios Meridional. Appearance is clear, medium intensity, ruby colour. Legs. Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of dusty Tuscan earth, dark red cherries, red plums. Developing. On the palate, dry, dipping medium+ acidity, medium alcohol (13.5%), smooth elegant high tannins, full body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of fine leather, dark red cherries, sour red cherries, red plum, savoury dusty Tuscan earth, fine spice. Long finish. Very good quality. I was guessing high end Brunello. Lots of life ahead. Bottle hand carried back from Italy.

Took me a while to adjust expectations to what was in the glass. And because of that, it took a few minutes to recognize how really excellent this wine is. We decided it may be showing what old-style Brunello was actually like before. The wine was light in appearance - like a cool climate pinot noir but earthy, high-minus acid, bright red cherry and menthol. Really fine tannins that were medium-plus. Red currant. On the nose it was earth and menthol and cherry. In the mouth it was that plus spice and red currant. Elegant and finessed and with a finish that carried on and on. Such an exceptional wine. In a grouping (with prime grade NY steak and grilled asparagus) with a 2000 Leoville Barton and a 2004 Cappellano Pie Franco. Sometimes we just get lucky.

Perfect cork with no signs of any movement up the cork at all. No signs of age in the glass. Muted nose a bit and after 1-2 hours decant started to open up. Restrained and balanced just starting to show some secondary flavors but still has bright acidity. Lighter body than other vintages but classic Biondi Santi. Would drink or hold as this has many years to go and may be slightly shit down right now.

Splash decanted 1 hour. This needed 2 hours to open but then dark red, mature fruit with earth and supporting tannin. This is a very nice Brunello that is okay to drink with enough air but has years to go given the structure. Give it 2-3 hours, or a slowox, or more time but very nice. A-

Gave this a 4 hour slow ox and it worked well. This was really nice, showing mature fruit, nice secondaries, and a long finish. Really nice Brunello with and without food. In its window but should hold for some time. A-

This was very good; good cork seal; this seems pretty mature with a savory earthy and mushroom nose with some dark fruits underlying; mint, forest floor, a hint of tobacco and truffle; the fruit freshens a bit, but overall this stays earth driven. Good balance on the palate, still quite structured, but it is still quite good with food. Not sure this is going to improve much with further age and probably ready to drink; if you pair it with a mushroom and meat dish it is a winner.

Sangiovese tasting at Malborghetto (Lecchi in Chianti - SI): 👀 Of a beautiful light purple color with garnet nail. 👃 Beatiful nose of sweet orange, spices, dark berries, earthy, complex and continuously evolving over the 3 hours of our lunch. 👅 "Finesse" is the key word here. Great balance between velvety tannins and a high acidity, impactful mouth, medium bodied, and very elegant. 🏁 Incredibly long and pleasant finish, calling for another sip.

Last minute impromptu meet-up at ESBK. Drank in Grassl 1855. Appearance is clear, medium intensity, ruby colour with thin garnet rim. Legs. Nose medium+ intensity, with aromas of savoury dark olives, dark red cherries, dark plums, dark earth. Some other mentioned bits of brett but I wasn't really getting any. Developing. On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium alcohol (13.5%), structured but fine high tannins, full body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of savoury black dark olives, dark red cherries, dark plums, earth and minerals. Long finish. Very good quality. Exuding masculine elegance. Dark, ripe, built to age. Will improve with more time.

This is a classic, throwback, checks the boxes and sets the standard. Tons of tasting notes already, this will not do it justice, but cherries and leather right out of the decanter, mix of red and black fruits and a nice aged bouquet of tobacco intermingling with the spicy cedar oak influence.
Style & Quality: A (95). Acidity is great, can't ask for more from the complexity and development, but here is what tells me this can get even better: the tannins start out earthy, tree-bark and tarry, almost Barbaresco like, then the acidity yanks on the reigns before it gets too woody or astringent. Amazing. I am thinking another 4 years before bottle #2, give the tannin a full 20 years to truly harmonize.
Value: B+ (88). Hard to call $95 a "value", but WS says I am 100 clams below the lowest seller, with still 2 bottles to go in the 'Knurd cellar. No sign of slowing down either.
Overall Eval: A- (93). When the tannins finally integrate, I expect big things.

Bottle breathed 3 hours, then 2 hours decant. Beautiful, aromatic nose: leather, tobacco, wood, red cherries, cassis, hint of plums. Nose reminded me of high quality cab franc-forward aged right bank...a dining companion initially thought so too. But palate gave away. Very high acidity, other Bordeaux characteristics fade away and the cherries and acid come through on palate. Not jammy. Somewhat sour finish was weak point. Could've done with (/expected) more tannins or more balance somehow. Tannins on their own nicely integrated, but the powerful acidity and sour finish made it feel ever so slightly out of balance when all said and done. Still, versatile. Would've given a 93+ for nose alone. Don't drink enough of this to know where it goes from here.

1/4. No formal note. Nose a little stern and reticent at first, showing dried red fruit, spice. Medium bodied, elegant with fine but still quite firm tannins, red cherries, spice, touch of soil, vibrant acidity good length finish. Just about drinking but should improve as it opens out more.

Bottle # 48489 6 hour slo-ox, like Franco taught me. That's about right, and nicely tamed a tannic bite at the start This is old school Brunello, as expected. Really brown. Cherry, dry cherry. Mushroom. Earth. That goes to a bit of fig and mineral after an other hour or two. Medium plus length.

Coravin'd at home with a nice ribeye. This a really elegant and Burgundian Brunello. On the nose, notes of sous bois and just a hint of licorice. In the mouth, velvety texture underpinned by fine but never drying tannin, with notes of sour cherries and blackberry. Sure, this could improve over the next 5+ years, but it's great now.

First experience with a Biondi Santi. The 2007 was not the best vintage in Montalcino which is why this wine is already in drinking window. The wine is still young, but not as young as one might expect from a Biondi Santi. Not your typical Brunello. Very delicate red color and "fresh" wine in the mouth. Red fruit, in particular cherry, but also flowers, citrus fruits and a light spicy note on the nose. Infinite aftertaste.

This was great. Really needs a long decant as still very young and this allowed the fruit to really come through. Classic cherry profile with high acidity but a real lightness of touch

Patio Dining at Tilia on a Warm Fall Evening (Tilia, Mpls): Very dark red color. Drank a glass over an hour. Note taking was slipping at this point. Great fruit; red and black, the red berries stand out, quite earthy with a little funk that heightens things, potpourri, anise, deep with great acidity and nicely dry tannins. Excellent. 93+pts.

Last time I had this was 5yrs ago in Lucca Italy from a wine list for less than I paid online in the US. On a atmospheric, deep Fall Lucca evening. What a great experience & memory! This has since evolved nicely adding more nuance, grace & elegant resolution. The wines pedigree, transparency and balance are beyond reproach. Burgundian in the best sense! A perfuse nose of tobacco, florals & red fruit. Those elements carry over to an ultra-fresh suave, weightless palate. A very complete & harmonious wine. I loved it tonight!. Bravo! Did we ever need to get back to Italy! One left that Ill open 2027+

Nose of dried roses, strawberry, licorice, leather and mushroom. On the palate fruit is taking a back seat with high acidity and fine tannins. At peak right now.
Pairs well cured salmon and beef tartare

A weird one. Some notes on pop & pour. Gave it a chance sipping over the course of next 72 hours but at the end conclusion is flawed. Nose faint whiffs of wet moss ?wet newspaper, dusty stones, sour red cherries, faint meat + leather. Palate concentrated ripe dark red cherries, sour red cherries, savoury earth, emerging meat + leather, dusty stones. With more air, VA flaws surfaced, wet newspaper cork taint on and off, with the notes I got on pop and pour becoming muted rendering the wine totally austere.. Day 2 animal brett funk stink, and then the ugly head of cork taint TCA again. A lesson in wine flaws. Hope my next bottle has better luck.

3 hours of slow ox. Really beautiful and in a great spot right now. This is a much lighter/traditional style of Brunello, cherry + leather, feels a little reminiscent of a lower alcohol '90s Bordeaux.

Disappointing. Brownish color, muted fruit flavors, maybe what some people call reduction (especially in white wines). It was stored very well in a climate controlled room. My previous bottle was very good. I have to figure it was flawed.

Pnp to replace bretty bottle 4. This is more like it. Needs hours to open up obviously but this is the real Biondi Santi deal. Smoky old leather on the nose, cherry fruit and a hint of something medicinal - coal tar soap? Only medium weight but great concentration nonetheless and the texture is like silk. Quite sharp acidity still and I suspect it will be better tomorrow although the class shines through now. Really good stuff but I'm finding it hard to buy more from this producer because of the amount of bretty bottles I've had. Think I'll stick to Salvioni. Never had a bad one from that address.

Fourth bottle from my case and once again, spoiled by Brett. Wine had been opened with a little poured out in the morning for the evening. Colour is a lovely foxy red and the texture is great but the smell of pig shit makes this impossible to drink - for me anyway. I can't imagine why anyone would think of this as a positive attribute. Except for a pig farmer maybe.

Giro d'Italia at The Clarence (The Clarence Tavern): Overriding impression of elegance: this might be Brunello from a warm vintage, but the estate's early-picking philosophy shone through. Plenty of energy but also a dusty, standoffish, aristocratic quality. Will be even more enjoyable with some additional tertiary development.

Sadly, this bottle was off. No TCA taint or notes of heat damage, but the fruit was non-existent on the palate. Nose was clean and expressive during a 3 hour decant, yet lifeless on the palate during various tasting intervals. A major disappointment. 80 points only because of the intriguing aromtic profile.

A couple of glasses taken via Coravin. Had with a 32 day aged ribeye from Farmison and some grilled asparagus with Hollandaise
Nose: dried cherry, orange peel, tomato, some “Christmassy notes” per my wife who gave a sniff but isn’t drinking (7 months pregnant).
Palate: abiding feeling is how elegant this is. Still getting some red cherries but moving to dried. Plum and a bit of Christmas spice, finishing with some lovely tertiary notes of truffle. Tannins are very integrated but acidity is still very much there, enough to cut through this steak.
Overall classic Biondi Santi - powerful but elegant and aging wonderfully with more to come.

Good to go right now. It’s taken a few years to get here - trying it 3-5 years ago I would have thought it might not arrive. But definitely has, and definitely now.
This is brilliant, and, thanks to the vintage's characteristics, seems ready to enjoy now. That said, of course it's early days, but with this much harmony and elegance, it's impossible to resist. Bright, very fresh, with superb balance. Pure joy. highly recommended
I'm new to Biondi-Santi, or at least their cuvees. Took me a while to work out that Tenuta Greppo is Biondi-Santi and not another project/vineyard and then that the Annata (must be aged for at least a year) is their basic Brunello. This is really at the perfect drinking point - a pointe. Pure red cherry fruit with some underlying attractive tar and earthy notes. Medium+ body, tannin and acidity. Really classy balance of fruit and structure. Persistent and complex. Great wine!

What a nose. Cherries, red currants, then sage, balsamic, leather. Primary and tertiary intersecting beautifully at this stage. Tannins very soft, acids Med + and alcohol in check for a warm year. You can tell they picked early. Length is incredibly long. Benchmark brunello. Can’t stop smiling with this in hand.
This is pitch perfect classically-styled brunello, arguably starting to reach peak. God, this is heavenly. On the nose: soft rose, soft tar, soft blackberry...soft but nevertheless intense at the same time. Supremely elegant and refined..on the nose as well as the palate; black cherry, fantastic acidity, pitch perfect density...then tannin building intensity to a finely grained apogee..juiciness to close. Wow.
This is probably the best Brunello I have ever had especially in terms of right timing to open as this bottle was at its peak of equilibrium. The color is still dark and profound with slight violet rim at the edge. The nose was simply heavenly; lots of fruits, mature and starting to be fully integrated and the dusty tannin was as suave as it can get. Bluberry, slight strawberry, wet earth, tiny bit smokey, and all this was fully open in the most suave and uplifting way. Each sip was reverberating at the backend and lasting for very very long. Splendid showing and certainly much more depth than other Biondi Santis that I have had and yet not at all heavy. Wow, sublime indeed! Cheers,
Youthful and stylish- Typical characters. Plenty of stuffing. Hold this one. Very tasty and easy to drink now, but it needs more time to show its best.

Complex aromas of dark berry fruit, smoked meats, baked earth and licorice. It has a dense core of rich, creamy fruit. There's plenty of chew and so many interesting savoury things going on in the background. It is pleasurable and engaging but there is still much in reserve.

Pronounced taste of blackberry, black cherry, black plum, black pepper, licorice, fig, prune, tobacco, wet leaves and forest floor. Long and dry finish. Medium acidity. Medium tannins. Medium body. My first of the 6 bottles which I just had delivered. Decanted first 3 hours and enjoyed over the next two with roast lamb rack. Has quite a dry, dusty cherry profile. Obviously medium high acidity but perhaps not quite enough fruit body to carry it off. A little thin maybe. Certainly it’s a more academic wine, with the secondary flavours and leather coming through. But did I love it? Not sure yet. Scoring a 91 and will update with future bottles.

Decanted for 30 mins before serving. Dark fruit, animal, bacon, earth and licorice. Powerful and brooding on the palate. Quite enjoyable but lacking character at this stage of the evolution compared to the cerbaiona, soldera and stella di campalto on the side.

Started a bit funky. Blew off after 30 minutes. Then a very light, bit thin cherry flavor profile. Wasn't tannic, nor fruity, nor woody or acid balanced. Just barely there. Hope for Day II.
Day IV - Funk lingers, which is worrisome. The wine is sweet, balanced, delicious. Bit thin.
This is a pass for me after 3 bottles.

Bought in HK local shop I have been frequenting. Massive funk on P&P, had a nice surprise of Riot police showing up at the intersection during dinner, adding some depth to the dinner & wine. Recall from night this was OK, cleared away Grandma's underwear drawer smell and moved to nice Italian Brunello nose, then a light balanced body. Managed the fatty steak well.
Day II. Overnight cold fridge & cork. See through darl burma ruby color. Coffee, burnt fruit nose, very interesting, some mushrooms. Very unusual & nice. Smoky, earthy, then some cherries, then the dirty earth. Second or third bottle & getting some variation. This is somewhere between amazing and off. Short finish, that wants to extend. Balance towards acidic. Funk is still there, some TCA. Bottle is off sadly I have finally determined.Grandma's revenge.

We brought this from winery and being stored properly since. Decanted, drink over the course of three hour dinner. It started up with red fruit and very tight on the month, very noticeably tannin. In an hour, it opens up beautifully, with more mushroom, tuffle, chocolate and smokiness. On the palate it is much softer.
At the end of three hours, the smell started to fade away while the palate stayed strong.
This is a beautiful wine that rewards for patience. It is very pleasant right now and can only be better in 3 years.

Just loving this wine. Bit of brickish color, showing her age slightly. Dried smokoish cherries on the nose. Bit of funk that hasn't blown off since last night opening and dropping in fridge. Mushrooms, forest floor Tuscan herbs. Yum. Super light on its feet, tangy fruit, balanced. Super cherry finish. Tannins so soft, wine so delicate yet can handle a steak.

Another great bottle from my rapidly dwindling case. On first pour absolutely no aromatics or taste whatsoever. Only after three hours in the decanter does it start to blossom and then - wow! I find this very difficult to describe but if you think of an ethereal but young and tannic Grand Cru Burgundy, you won't be far off. This is very aristocratic, sleek and just delicious now although it clearly needs perhaps ten years more in the cellar to really shine and move up a couple more gears.

Overall a disappointment. Very structured with high acidity and tannins. Some red cherries, and some complexity, not a bad wine, but more intellectual interesting than pleasant in any way. Hope I just opened it 10 years too soon, but I'm not confident that the fruit will hold up for that long.
Decanted and then put back in the bottle after 45 minutes and brought it to a NYC restaurant for my wine group. It was then open, but not decanted for about 45 minutes before we poured. Medium + length finish. Nice floral notes, mixed in with with maybe a touch of nail polish remover on the nose. Lean tasting, with medium acidity. Nice with food.

Air for 5hrs. Lighter and much more simple and short than its better peers in the 2007 vintage re lcently tasted e.g. Salvioni, Poggio di Sotto, Paradiso...etc Bright acidity, Cooked red fruits, tea leaves, auite earthy and mushroomy with some herbs and spices notes. Straight forward and quite light. Expected more...nevertheless still a good traditional BdM with typicity and easy to drink.

It's my second experience with this wine this year. Consistently good but not something you would say 'Wow' at this point. Translucent, candy apple red with a beautiful nose of strawberries and savory herbs that come through on the palate. There are some tannins that still need to integrate. Good acidity to keep things fresh.

Just had a case of 6 delivered and just had to try one. Decanted 3 hours. Very reticent nose at first. A lovely long wine but still too young. Did not quite have the body I was expecting but should have left to settle after its journey for a few weeks. Will leave 2-3 years before trying again.
A great wine that is still too young. It needed more than 1h to start opening, but it clearly needs more time in cellar. It's a very complex wine and has more body than most Brunellos. If you want to drink now decant it for at least 1h, but I strongly recommend to hold another 3 years at least.

This rating may be unfair. It was a stunning wine compared to last time I had. At restaurant in Italy and after about 15-20 minutes the wine was like satin with cherries and resolved tannins with velvety mouth feel very silky. Excellent balance between fruit and that rustic traditional Italian Brunello. Truly a treat. Sorry I don't have more detailed notes but anyone who knows me knows I prefer to focus on friends and family when in a restaurant. Fortunately I have more so I can become more analytical when in private tasting.

The first thing that grabs you is the colour - a gorgeous clear foxy red, the colour of oxblood Doc Martens. The nose is all old leather, wood, earth, licorice and a hint of blood. The wine itself is really quite Burgundian in weight and it simply glides over the palate like a Riva Aquamara across Lake Como. There's great concentration and plenty of grip and tannin on the finish and it's just oh so drinkable right now. Sensible alcohol (13.5%).
My first Biondi Santi and OK, I get it. This is a wine of polish, breeding and class. Beautiful label, gorgeous colour, lovely wine.

Picked up on the way home at the FCO airport. Saw the 2007 and figured, why the heck not? It would be a few months before my purchases started to arrive back home.
We let it settle for a month and given the provenance (2007? In the Duty Free? How long had this been sitting in this luke-warm wine refrigerator?)
Well, solid if not stellar nonetheless. Underbrush, red fruit, tannin folded in, decent finish. A nice buy to hold us over. I'd say 88-89, but again the provenance.

Pedigree- pedigree - pedigree! Tansparency - transparency - transparency! Balance - balance - balance! Class & elegance! Old vine depth! Burgundian in the best sense! Standard bearer for tradional BdM. Not even over ripe for 2007. Beautiful wine that shows its excellence even now but will obviously really be special down the line. Great nose of tobacco, leather and red fruit. Carries over to the ultra fresh palate. Don't know where this wine will go as his son takes over but i suspect he'll resist messing up a beautiful wine with modernistic techniques that make it hard to tell Brunello from CA Cabs. This is near the top of the pyramid of a couple dozen or so BdM producers who really nail this great grape. Loved it tonight with dinner in Lucca Italy. If you have a few don't be afraid to open unless you only enjoy fully aged wines at 15yrs plus. Had restaurant decant upon arrival. Not cheap but don't think you find this on many US wine list for $160 Euros at today's exchange rate.

No notes as we were at dinner with friends. A couple of thoughts...Young, Young, Young. Holds much promise and approachable now but I can't wait for it to mature. Required decanting but as well developed over the 2 hour dinner so that maybe if opened sooner it would be even more expressive. Time will tell.

Surprising lightly coloured and transparent with very apparent 'browning' of age. Evolved and smooth. Almost Burgundisn like in its balance of lightness and flavour. A beautifully balanced wine with red cherry and a touch of sweated leather. Had an ethereal nature which keep me going back for more. Felt very much time to drink this particular bottle - surprisingly low acidity.

Selected this from a wine list of a restaurant in Tuscany for a very reasonable price. Beautiful dark ruby color. Intense floral bouquet. Ripe red fruits, lots of acidity, smooth texture, with plenty of remaining structure. Still quite young, but a nice treat nonetheless. This needs plenty of time to reach its full potential.
Floral on the nose with dark berry fruit, forest notes, spices. Not overly sweet but rich and generous. On the palate very powerful with lots of ripe fruit, firm tannins and great acidity. At this stage only showing hints of the complexity and generousity that should emerge with more bottle age. Great, lingering finish. Keep. 92-93+(+?)

Totally tremendous one I ve tasted on this year Little bit freaky but has gorgeous fruit character with cherry blossoms, mamaladed fruity jams with truffles and other mushrooms, the tannis was so magical that I thought I should be well cellared old vintage of Santi's but Its just 2006. So the conclusion is overripen in bottle I tasted one of the hedonistic style wine. Jesus.

Served over dinner with friends. Medium garnet. I bought this wine after I tasted it during a merchant event and really loved. The wine merchant told me that I should decant it for 30 min as there are initially some bretty notes that will dissipate. Right he was, some barnyard notes dominated the nose for ca 15 minutes and then give way to a wonderful Sangiovese nose around leather, rose, sweet spices and sandal wood. On the palate medium bodied, soft and delicate with outstanding balance and elegance. A true Tuscan treasure.

Tasted at Wine Advocat event - A matter of taste. Medium ruby with brownish hue. Expressive nose of cloves, leather, sweet spices, typical Sangiovese from this area. On the palate this wine is exceptionally balanced, medium-light bodied you could say. The tannins are very soft (2007 was a warmer year) and the wine highly drinkable. A really Burgundian treat here. Fantastic, unfortunately not cheap as this is one of Italy's most iconic wine. 95-96

Compatto.

Tuscany holiday spring 2014; 4/11/2014-4/18/2014 (Tuscany (San Gimignano)): just a hint lighter around the edge of the glass, a mid/dark garnet colour, darker berry fruits, some rose and a touch of leather. dense and mouth coating, suave tannins but certainly present, quite complex, dried cranberry, dark cherry but still quite tight, a very long and savoury finish.

Quite open, fruity and surprisingly non-tannic/round to begin with; medium red; later closing down, elegant but somewhat unyielding nose; good fruit, lean, pleasant lightly sweet and long aftertaste

Lovely, expressive, and surprisingly open nose of red cherry, tons of spices, tobacco and the most wonderful notes of balsamico, eucalyptus and rose petals. Ripe and sweet on the palate but balanced expertly by high acidity lending freshness and ethereal qualities to the mouthfeel. Grippy and long ending showing the solid structure and offering hints that this will be even better 10 years down the road. Perfect level of ripeness for my palate..

My first Biondi Santi BdM and there is no doubting its pedigre. Smelled great right upon opening and very floral. I decanted for about 2 hours, poured back into the btl and replaced the cork for the road trip up to Marks. Upon arrival we pulled the cork again and just let it sit in the btl for another 90 minutes before having with some amazing Flannery steaks Mark prepared. Early on the texture was superb with the food. After dinner the tanins showed a bit stronger on the finish. So this is not yet ideal for sipping on its own and obviously needs 6 - 10yrs to really strut its stuff. Still, for as young as it is, it allready shows great purity and sangio typacity. Nothing foo foo about this wine! Whatever oak it sees is well integrated. Nothing masking the typacity or the terroir in this wine. Loved the earthiness already showing on the palate. Color is a lovely medium dark translucent crimson with some orange on the edges as expected from Sangio in a great year. Impressive concentration and weightless power. Great minerality, red fruit and spice flavors. Very happy to have 2 more stored offsite where I'll let them rest for at least six more years. A Burgundy lover's BdM!

Drank at Biondi-Santi Ruby colour with a nose of cherries, flowers and some red fruits. Nice palate. Still quite young and will try again in a number of years.

(94-95 with potential for more.) Open, superbly complex nose. A grand wine (leaves the 2005 far behind in the shadows)! Fantastic on the palate as well. Powerful but very balanced with great acidity and fruit. Animal and minerally. Very young, of course, but surprisingly approachable. Fantastic!

Decanter Italy Tasting (London): Fuller, fruitier nose with a more appealing palate than 2005. Juicy, crisp cranberry, raspberry and blackcurrant. Firm tannins just starting along their path of integration. Long, elegant finish and a fine future ahead.

👃 Beatiful nose of sweet orange, spices, dark berries, earthy, complex and continuously evolving over the 3 hours of our lunch.

A perfuse nose of tobacco, florals & red fruit. Those elements carry over to an ultra-fresh suave, weightless palate. A very complete & harmonious wine. I loved it tonight!. Bravo!

Wine Pages Italy offline at The Clarence (The Clarence - Stoke Newington): Double decanted at home.
Very similar showing to previous notes though perhaps impaired as we’d finished most of the lamb by the time we got to this!
Nose: dried cherry and tomato leaf
Palate: again the overriding sense of elegance is here with delicious cherries, pleasing acidity and integrated tannins.
This still has ages to go and I’ll hold on to my final bottle for the long run.

Great wine!

Cheers,

Obviously medium high acidity but perhaps not quite enough fruit body to carry it off. A little thin maybe. Certainly it’s a more academic wine, with the secondary flavours and leather coming through. But did I love it? Not sure yet. Scoring a 91 and will update with future bottles.

This wine has aged nicely since last year, drinking beautifully now. Mature with orange rims, round, nice acidity and long finish. Needs to be decanted.

Salvioni, Poggio di Sotto, Paradiso...etc
Bright acidity, Cooked red fruits, tea leaves, auite earthy and mushroomy with some herbs and spices notes.
