Saturday, June 17, 2023 - Four hour decant. Very very deep dark electric magenta color. Blackberry, plum, strawberry jam, burnt caramel corn, powdered sugar, Italian parsley, and subtle milk chocolate and anise. Smooth, dry palate, with satiny, tongue coating acidity. Firm, medium intensity tannins on the longish finish.
This is youthful and also more serious (i.e., not as confectionery) than my notes make it sound. It’s quite rich, but not yet fully open. I hope to wait another year for the next bottle. There’s no potential built into my score. This will absolutely get better.
