Saturday, June 17, 2023 - I had Krug 167 during Covid. With a special occassion, I shared this Krug NV 169 with friends. It is a nice NV Krug but it needs time to decant. Especially, it is critical to have patient friends who could wait a while to consume. Otherwise, the sharp acidity may distort how we fully appreciate this champagne. That said, the 169 is still young from my opinion. Colorwise, light to medium yellow color. Apples, honey and toasted brioche. For sure this Krug is fizzy. Compared to 167, perlage is similarly fine and persistent with delicate mousse for a long time. Still, the floral smell is not as good as one with Cristal. This Krug is long finish. Enjoyable experience.
