Sunday, September 10, 2023 - One of the more restrained Carters I have had in recent years. Likely related to the vintage. I gave this two hours of decanting. Blackberry, cassis, and peony on the nose. Same fruit flavors follow on the palate with cinnamon and chocolate, finishing with some peppermint chocolate bark. Firm tannins. I would have guessed more cab than merlot, and would have been wrong.
