Friday, October 20, 2023 - Tried half an hour after opening, didn't decant and it wasn't needed.. Very pretty, juicy mix of red and black fruit. Nose a bit muted, especially when compared with the palate. It tastes just like a good merlot should, which raises the questions why so many offerings of this grape don't taste like this one. The vibrant fruit sets it apart from BDX and points towards southern Tuscany. Tannins resolved, wood integrated, fruit has not faded, all components held together and structured in a user friendly way......The finish is fine, not overly long.
I am impressed, this bottle was in the sweet spot.
