Sunday, November 19, 2023 - I love this. This might be my new favorite champagne. I am having this with some Gruyère before dinner for my mom’s birthday dinner. Really pretty red apple, floral, and lemon peel on the nose. It has such a lightness/freshness that does not exhaust your palate. Now comes the hard part in keeping my hands off my remaining bottle

I just picked up some 12 and may pop one for NYE, its that or the 98 Krug! Will look to pick up the 13 rather soon. I'd have to say that this has become one of my favorite champagnes.

I have liked the vintage and nonvintage Pol Roger champagne and decided to try a couple of bottles of the Winston Churchill cuvée to the betterment of my palate but worsening of my pocketbook.

We had an Egly NV disgorged 2014 for NYE. Was better than the Churchill we had last night. Its more expensive but thats how it seems to be in the wine world and most other things, you get what you pay for! I'd have to say pound for pound Egly wins my vote for best champagne house.

12/31/2023 9:20:00 PM - Oh no. All I sadly need are recommendations for bottles not in my cellar that are more pricey than what I currently have. My sister had the 2013 with me and saw my rating of 96 and asked me what in the world would rate higher and I told her that you always need a little wiggle room for the next possible bottle. Happy New Year!

5/5/2024 2:11:00 PM - If you're going to splurge, I recommend the 2012 SWC, it was amazing! The 08 also.

My experience the past few months showed both of those vintages far better than the 2013, which seemed a bit awkward at this stage for my taste, but of course its all subjective. Perhaps, maybe, it was just an off bottle you know how it is. Actually found and bought SWC 04 about 6 months, it too was magical, goosebump material )) Lucky.

Any day drinking SWC is a great day!!

5/5/2024 2:15:00 PM - Can I ask where you found the '04. I have just a couple of bottles of Dom left in that vintage that I drink with my husband because it is our wedding year on our anniversaries. I would love to add this since we are running low

5/5/2024 2:28:00 PM - Sure, no problem. Just confirmed: purchased from The Wine Club in San Francisco back in Nov 23 and drank w my wife shortly thereafter while on a trip in San Fran. TWC website does not show any left (( https://thewineclub.com/ Bummer.

However, may want to contact them and inquire. K&L looks to have some available on auction: https://www.wine-searcher.com/find/pol+roger+cuvee+sir+winston+church+hill+brut+champagne+france/2004/usa-ca?Xsort_order=p

I'd say if you can find a good source it is worth every penny, especially as its your wedding year! Hope you can find it!! You and your husband will really love it if you're SWC fans as I see.

I did also recently have a bottle of 04 Dom w my wife and brother. It was fantastic! I'm debating getting more as was my last bottle of that vintage, although do have 2 more of the Rose which is one of my favorite ever champagnes I've ever had.
