Friday, December 1, 2023 - Wow, this was the perfect match with medium rare Irish tenderloins. Cork was a mess and I prefer sieving juice thru a teabag to owning a durand. Luckily the wine was/is much more together then the cork was.
The nose is very bramberry, cooked as well as fresh, stewed prums also come to mind.
Then on the palate old leather, marinated in dark and savoury berry extract. Some greenish pepper to remind you of the cabarnet Sauvignon part of the blend.
This is in your face, just about balanced and very nice.
Two more in the cellar, I don't think this will get much more tertiary than where it already is, but likely to keep it together for the next 2-3 years.
